full fall sessions

{02} schedule

The Schoolhouse studies will take many forms, dictated by the inspirations and interests of the visiting teachers, and the response and desires of the students. This may include anything related to the design, literary, performing & visual arts, and tangentially beyond into the sciences and the humanities. We will primarily be interested in actively engaged, group based, place responsive, non-object oriented, forms of learning and interaction.

The Schoolhouse will offer an extremely diverse and dense survey of innovative and experimental contemporary thought, with over 24 teachers visiting throughout twelve 12 hour meetings. The development of social, emotional, academic and skill-based intelligence will be equally valued. The Schoolhouse will provide exposure to a diversity of ideas and points of view, laying out paths for learning, exploring and curiosity that may be picked up and followed at any time later in life.

Seasonal Schedule:

The annual schoolhouse schedule consists of of a fall and a spring session. We convene for a full 12 hour day, one day a week for 12 weeks each season. Each day of the Schoolhouse will begin early in the morning with some form of physical activity such as yoga or dance in the geodesic dome and conclude that evening with a happy hour or dinner. Each seasonal session will have a loose topic or theme. Teachers and visitors will be invited in part based on the direct relationship in their practice to this seasonal topic. On the Sunday of the final week of the season, a salon event will be produced, curated and staged by the students at the Schoolhouse to publicly present the fruits of the season.
