Flora
Wiegmann
will graduate with an M.F.A. in performance from U.C.L.A.in December 2006, where
her research focused on the collaborative relationship between visual art and
performance. Collaborative partners have included Felicia Ballos, Drew Heitzler,
Walead Beshty, Andrea Zittel, Margo Victor, and Alix Lambert. Recent performances
include site-specific work at High Desert Test Sites in 29 Palms, California,
The Happy Lion in Los Angeles, California, Monkeytown in Brooklyn, NY, and Space
102 in Grenoble, France. Exhibitions include Black Noise at ArtBasel and Connect
the Dots at Columbia University. She co-founded Champion Fine Art which operated
from 2003 to 2005 and co-curated Dancing Convention with Fritz Haeg for The
Sundown Salon in 2006. This year she will be teaching at both The Sundown Schoolhouse
and at The University of Southern California.
