Juliette
Mapp {Dancing
9-5} is a dancer, teacher and choreographer based in
New York. She is currently a visiting Professor at George Washington University
in Washington D.C. Juliette teaches regularly throughout NYC at Movement Research,
Dance New Amsterdam, Trisha Brown studios and Hunter College. Juliette has worked
with many choreographers including Deborah Hay, Vicky Shick and John Jasperse
(she received a New York dance and performance award i.e. "Bessie"
from her work with Mr. Jasperse). Juliette has been an Artisit-in-Residence
at Movement Research (2005-2006). Juliette's choreography recently has been
in response to the war in Iraq and her piece "one" included 70 dancers
and non-dancers counting the number of Iraqi civilians killed in the war in
June 2005. Juliette has had her own work presented throughout the New York City
and is currently working on a dance/play called "Anna, Ikea and I".
