Margaret
Wertheim
is founder and director of The
Institute for Figuring, an LA based organization devoted to enhancing the
public understanding of the aesthetic and poetic dimensions of science, mathematics
arts the technical arts. As science writer and author, Margaret has published
books on the history of physics and is currently writing a book on outsider
science and the role of imagination in theoretical physics. For the IFF she
has curated exhibitions on science and math themes at Machine Project, Apexart
(New York), Santa Monica Museum of Art, and (forthcoming) at the Williamson
Gallery at Art Center College of Design and the Museum of Jurassic Technology.
