Michael Crewdson was born, bred and educated in Brooklyn, New York. For the last 15 years has been writing about the natural history of urban and exotic wildlife. He is the co-author of Carnivorous Nights: On the Trail of the Tasmanian Tiger (myspace.com/carnivorousnights) and Wild New York: A Guide to the Wildlife, Wild Places, and Natural Phenomena of New York City (Crown, 1996). He has written about and collaborated with nature-obsessed artists Bob Braine, Mark Dion, Roxy Paine, Leslie Reed, and Alexis Rockman. He is one of the co-founders of the Secret Science Club.
