Herbst is
interested in many manifestations of art in the expanded field. He is a founding
editor of the Journal
of Aestheics and Protest . The Journal is curating the exhibition “Street
Signs and Solar Ovens: Socialcraft in LA” which will open at the Craft
and Folk Art Museum this Fall. Additionally current projects include the publishing
of a book called “Failure! Experiments in Aesthetic and Social Practices”
and a series of liquid lightshow happenings performed with Karl Erikson and
a variety of rock acts. He enjoys many other forms of praxis, restive and vigorous.
