(more on <a href=\"http:\/\/x-initiative.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">X Initiative<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moussemagazine.it\/publishing.mm?id=48\" target=\"_blank\">Mousse Publishing<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Part anthology, part diary, the book comes as a testament of one of the  most important and original initiatives that came to embody and define a  new approach to exhibiting art and engaging the public sphere during  the recent recession\u2014one that certainly did not spare the contemporary  art world. X was a temporary platform that took over the glorious space  of the former Dia Center for the Arts in Chelsea, New York, running for  one year and presenting exhibitions, debates, screenings and events.
