On June 22nd, 2012, THE AMERICAN DOMESTIC INTEGRITY FIELD RUG…

  Domestic Integrities

stained vintage linens at the heart of the new American Domestic Integrity Field rug

….got it’s auspicious start yesterday here at Mildred’s Lane – where I have returned for the weekend after an inspiring visit two years ago – to kick of the American edition of Domestic Integrities, which will expand as it travels the continent, exhibited from place to place (first up MoMA in September, The Hammer Museum in February, The deCordeva Museum in May, and the Walker Art Center in August) – and it seemed appropriate to establish the heart of it here at this community of enlightened, rigorous, thoughtful, and artful domesticity – crocheted from a growing pile of gorgeous vintage tea-stained linens and other soft aged natural fibers so typical of the place, that proprietress J Morgan Puett is generously donating to the cause…and it is also with Midred’s Lane that we will be programming the presentations and installations of Domestic Integrites on the rug in the fall at MoMA.
