…we shared at the end of our meal last night (which also happened to fall on Julia Child’s 100th birthday, marked by the restaurant with a special menu) was agreed among all at the table to be a mind blowing revelation of ripe fruit perfection – begging the question to yourself ‘have I ever really tasted a peach, strawberry, blackberry, or raspberry before?’ – and we heard from our Chez Panisse friend and table-mate that it had taken them years to: source the exact fruit produce and farmers, figure out precisely when it was ripe and ready, determine how to properly store the various varieties….leading up to our precious seasonal fruit moment together.
